January Totals

Okay, so I blew it with the $200 mark for January... I spent $300.65. I did save $478.77, a total of over 159% savings... Not too bad. I have tons more improving to do to get where I want to be, but I am working on it!!! My stockpile is getting bigger, so my total should be going down slowly : )!

Off to a new month... February. BUT, we have Uncle Dean (Benny's brother) coming to visit, and that means a little extra splurging. Still going to try to save crazy money, but I'm not going to let myself get discouraged if it isn't $200!!!

Well, I didn't make my $200 goal this month, BUT...

Okay, so I didn't make my $200 goal this month, and there are still 6 days left in the month. BUT, I have saved far more than I have spent, I have a few rebates coming back to me, AND, I stocked up on a few things...

So far I have spent $270.57, but I have saved $451.92. That is 167%!!! I do have to go get some diapers today because there is an awesome sale, and there are a few great things at Albies that I can't pass up. So that will probably push my total to over $300 this month. I am not going to be discouraged, though, considering this is far less than what I used to spend, and I felt like there was NOTHING in my refrigerator or cupboards! Now, I have a pretty decent stock, and still spending less : ). I will post my albertsons trip when I get back.

As for the past trips that I haven't posted, I had a WinCo run for meat, etc (no coupons used there... or pics taken) And a Safeway, Walgreens, and Albertsons trips which I will post with amounts spent seperately. And, there were a couple of shopping trips in between that I was in too much of a hurry to get pics of... Sorry. I am going to try to be better about getting out there before the sales are over or nearing the end so that you can share in the couponing deals, too : )

Thanks for checking out my site!

Walgreens 1/14

Spent $12.35 Saved $44.65. And, I will get a $10 mail in rebate!

Safeway 1-14

Safeway trip from 1/14... Again, deals I got here are no longer good (sorry...) But am sharing anyway. Spent $15.87, saved $54.72!!!

Albertson's 1/14

Albertsons - 1/14 trip - sorry, deals no longer good for this one, but thought I would share the purchase price : ) I did splurge on the big tub of ice cream cause Benny promised Danny ice cream. Paid $25.79, saved $61.74

Albertsons Shopping Trip

Did a small Albertson's shopping trip today. They are having a promo right now if you spend $20 on participating General Mills Products, a $5 coupon prints out (you would get $5 off your next shopping order - also called a catalina). Also, right now, if you buy 5 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks (which are included in the sale) you get an extra $3.50 catalina. I have attached the links to print off a few coupons for this deal. Check out Albertsons.com to see exactly what other items are listed as part of the catalina special. Check out fistfulofcoupons.com for coupon links to the general mills items (and tons more too : ) So, the grand total for all shown here is $32.58, saved (55.10). This should have been less, but we were having dinner with my uncle tonight, and I splurged and bought a pie with no coupon: ) And, like I mentioned before, I got three different catalinas totalling $10.50 off of my next shopping trip! My total up through today for January is $94.79, saved $161.32. My goal for the month is to spend $200! I'll keep posting each shopping trip!

Rite Aid/Walgreens Shopping Trip

I did a Rite Aid and Walgreens run yesterday. As you see, I had to splurge on a couple of after christmas clearance items, but this (and one package of wrapping paper, not shown) totalled $18.60, saved $34.29.

Albertson's Trip

Here is my Albertson’s Shopping Trip for today. Albertsons frequently has doubler coupons in the Sunday newspaper (sometimes the Wednesday one too, when the ads come out). You can only use 3 per transaction (I got 3 papers, so I had to do three separate transactions to get the best savings…) I spent a total of $34.99 and saved $66.51. And, I got a $10 coupon towards my next shopping order because of a promotion they had going on. I will continue to try to post my shopping trips, and my goal is to put the total spent/saved at months end! As of today, my total spent (I had a run to Freddy’s and to Walgreens too) is $43.61, saved $71.51.

The beginning of my blogging adventure

I have been couponing for about 6 months now, and I know there is still tons to learn, but I really feel like I am finally getting it down (mostly). I still have mishaps at the store, spending more than I originally calculated, but the savings are really adding up! I have decided to start blogging my purchases and savings, not only to hold my self accountable for my spending, but also to hopefully inspire others to try it! It is super easy, and saves tons of money. My grocery spending is almost cut in half from 6 months ago! And, at that time, I only counted food into my grocery budget. Paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, razors, etc., was a completely different budget. Now, it is all in one, and still just over half of what my food budget was before (for my family of 5 it was about $400-$500 per month).
